Service Description

Overview The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and practical competence required to be able to recognize and treat adults who have become unresponsive, suffered cardiac arrest or are having a life-threatening allergic reaction (Anaphylaxis). Learners will gain the skills and knowledge to respond quickly, calmly and confidently and provide life saving treatment. Duration A minimum of 4 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. The course can be delivered in one day or spread over a maximum of 3 weeks ensuring that each session is a minimum of 1 hour. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: • What is first aid? • Responsibilities • Action in an emergency • Primary Survey • Recovery position • Resuscitation and the safe use of an AED • Anaphylaxis Assessment and Marking This qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and oral questioning. Real-life scenarios will be set to test the learners skills and knowledge. Certification Successful learners will be awarded a Ofqual regulated qualification. This qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further 3 years. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. Numbers A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify.

Cancellation Policy

Should circumstances mean that you need to cancel your course and are unable to transfer your booking to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than 28 days prior to the course start date – NGN5,000 administration fee • 27 to 15 days prior to the course start date – 50% of the course fee • 14 days or less prior to the course start date – full fee If you have previously transferred your course from an alternative date and now wish to cancel altogether there will be a 25% administration fee payable, further to the charges listed above. Cancellation must be confirmed in writing by email and received by the due date.
