Service Description

Overview This course will give learners first aid knowledge and skills to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical lifesaving assistance until supports arrives. The students will be able to deal with responsive and unresponsive casualties who are breathing normally or otherwise. Duration A minimum of 3 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. The course can be delivered in one day or spread over a maximum of 3 weeks ensuring that each session is a minimum of 1 hour. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) • Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) • Primary Survey • Recovery position • Choking Assessment and Marking The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course. Certification This qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further 3 years. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. Numbers A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify.

Cancellation Policy

Should circumstances mean that you need to cancel your course and are unable to transfer your booking to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than 28 days prior to the course start date – NGN5,000 administration fee • 27 to 15 days prior to the course start date – 50% of the course fee • 14 days or less prior to the course start date – full fee If you have previously transferred your course from an alternative date and now wish to cancel altogether there will be a 25% administration fee payable, further to the charges listed above. Cancellation must be confirmed in writing by email and received by the due date.
